What a Full Interior and Exterior Detail Includes

Most first-time customers ask the same thing when they call: what do I actually get? The Interior + Exterior detail is the one we call the whole package, and it is the one we recommend if you have never been in before. This is what happens to your car, in order.

Before the car comes in

Take your belongings out of the interior before you drop the car off. We are not responsible for anything left in it, and a clear cabin lets us reach every surface. Our listed prices are written for cars in moderate condition, and they are a minimum. Size and condition move the final number, which we will talk through when we see the car.

The exterior, step by step

• Foam wash. A thick foam loosens dirt, grime and bug splatter so it lifts off without being rubbed into the paint.
• Full-body clay massage. A clay bar pulls bonded grit off the paint that washing leaves behind. Paint feels smooth afterward.
• Paint correction at 80 percent defect removal, followed by a paste wax sealant. This is the step that brings back depth and gloss.
• Door jambs, wiper blades, and logos and trim. Wax residue is cleaned out of badges and trim so nothing looks half done.
• Rims, wheel wells, and tires. Wheels are scrubbed, wells cleaned, and all rubber is dressed.
• Windows, in and out.

The paint correction step is the one people underestimate. It is not a quick buff. Machine polishers go over the paint to remove swirls and light scratches, and the wax sealant goes on afterward to protect the freshly polished surface.

The interior, step by step

• Vacuum and scrub the floor mats.
• Shampoo the carpets and upholstery, including the seats.
• Steam the vents, cup holders and steering column, which disinfects the places hands touch most.
• Condition the leather, vinyl and plastics to a satin finish. We aim for a clean, even look, not a greasy shine.
• Wipe down the dash and cup holders.
• Clean out and scrub the trunk.
• Windows, in and out.

Headliners are not part of the package unless you ask for them. If your headliner is stained or sagging, mention it when you book.

What it costs

Interior + Exterior detailing starts at $199 for a compact car and $229 for a sedan or crossover. It goes up with the size of the vehicle: $249 for a mid size SUV or pickup, $279 for a large SUV, pickup or minivan, and $339 for an extra large SUV or pickup. All of these are starting prices. Adding the engine detail takes the full package to $239 for a compact and $259 for a sedan or crossover, and up from there for bigger vehicles.

What costs extra

Some conditions need more time than the package assumes, so they are priced on top of it.

• Excessive pet hair, $45 and up.
• Excessive tar, $10 and up.
• Heavy stains, $15 and up.
• Tree sap, $15 and up.
• Heavy oxidation, $50 and up.

We would rather list these than surprise you at pickup. If your dog rides in the back seat or your truck spent a summer under a pine tree, assume one of these may apply and ask us.

Is this the right package for you?

We have a five-tier ladder, and the whole package is not always the right answer. Detail Wax is the lighter option, recommended for newer or well-maintained vehicles that mostly need a refresh. Interior or Exterior on its own makes sense when only one half of the car needs help. The whole package fits a car that has not been detailed in a while, a used car you just bought, or any car you want to feel new again.

The full package with engine detail adds an engine bay cleaning. It is a good fit for a car you plan to sell or keep a long time. A standalone engine detail is also available as an add-on, starting at $59.
